Where is the festival taking place? 

The festival will be taking place at Dreel Halls in Anstruther. The events will be held in either the upper or the lower hall with crafts and face painting taking place in the centre kitchen area.

Please note that Dreel Halls is on a busy main road. Take care to supervise children at all times when outside the Halls and ensure that when queuing, you stand adjacent to the building and not alongside the road. 

What is happening during the day?

There will be six main events taking place including a book reading, family ceilidh, storytelling workshops, Teddy Bears picnic and Family Rave. There will also be crafts and face painting throughout the day as well as a free Bookbug session. 

How do I get to the festival? 

Dreel Halls is easily accessible on foot, by car or by public transport. The Halls are a short walk from the centre of Anstruther. Buses from St Andrews and Leven stop nearby. Further information can be found here. 

Where can I park? 

Parking can be found nearby at the main car parks near the co-op or at the harbour. If you need to park closer, there is limited parking at the esplanade.

Who can attend? 

The festival is aimed at children of all ages and their families. Please check the event information for more details on recommended ages. 

Can I bring a pram?

The main door of the Halls is accessed up a small step. There is limited space in the halls for prams and pushchairs but if you are able to walk from the car park or bring a baby carrier, please do consider this if possible. 

Is the festival wheelchair accessible? 

All of the lower hall events, crafts and face painting are accessible. The upper hall can only be accessed by stairs. Please contact us for any further information about accessibility of the children’s festival. 

Can dogs come to the festival? 

With the exception of Guide Dogs and Assistance animals, dogs will not be allowed into the children’s festival. 

Will food be available? 

We will not be providing food at the festival. Small snacks and milk for babies and very young children can be brought into the events (check event information for specific guidance on each event) but where possible, and with the exception of the Teddy Bears Picnic, for older children please ensure snacks are consumed before entering the events. Please ensure all drinks are in lidded containers and report any spillages immediately to a festival staff member or volunteer.
